Shanling Teases With References To New Devices

After the success of their M0 super mini player, it’s great to see Shanling constantly at work to bring about newer and more feature-packed devices. Not too long ago the announced the M2x, which was a rather different device than what they’ve released before. However, it seems that they have stepped up their game yet again and are now getting ready to announce a new player based on the Android platform.

Whilst the above image doesn’t tell us exactly give away any of the specs regarding DAC chip, etc, what it does tell us is that Shanling’s next device seems to be set to compete with FiiO’s M11. The M11 was the first player to feature a 3.5mm single-ended output alongside both 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced outputs, and Shanling have adopted this too.

The fact that they say “open Android OS” also immediately tells us that this new device will handle way more streaming services than any of Shanling’s prior devices, and that it’s built around an octa-core Snapdragon CPU should also ensure a pretty smooth and stable OS.

The other device seems distinctly different to a player, and the fact that Shanling mentions the inclusion of both a 3.5mm single-ended output as well as a 2.5mm balanced output, and NFC capability too makes it seem all the more likely that we might see a new addition to their UP range of portable Bluetooth receivers (or perhaps this will be the introduction of a new line of products).
Just looking at these basic specs, it seems that this device too is aimed at competing with FiiO’s upcoming BTR5 receiver.

Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait until the 2nd of September to find out, but so far it looks like Shanling is preparing quite the treat for us all.
