Shure Expands Wireless SE-line
Shure is, without a doubt, one of the most well-known brands out there in therms of audio-related products. In the ‘Audiophile’ world, the SE-line are much-loved and often features on some or other list of recommendations. Some time ago Shure introduced the SE112, and then towards the end of last year (2017) they brought out the SE215 in wireless form. Now Shure have gone ahead and expanded the SE-line to also include the S425, SE535, and the highly-regarded SE846.
Just to be clear, these aren’t ‘new’ models, Shure are just including a Bluetooth capable cable in the packaging. As such, they also ship with a standard 3.5mm analogue cable.
A Quick Recap Of The SE-line
First up is Shure’s most-affordable product in their SE-line. The SE112 houses a single driver in each earpiece and is priced at less than $100.
The SE215 is in all likelihood Shure’s best-selling IEM. Despite only housing a single driver, the SE215’s popularity is almost unparalleled. It’s often featured on various “best IEMs under $200” recommendation-lists. Our review for the wireless version can be found here.
The SE425 utilizes a dual-driver setup comprised of a woofer and tweeter driver to deliver what Shure says is an “accurate, natural sound”.
The SE535 is an IEM that delivers one of the best measurements around. It’s got an exceptionally flat and smooth frequency response. According to Shure, the SE535 “utilizes a dedicated tweeter and dual woofers to deliver spacious sound with rich bass”. Check out our review of the SE535 here.
And finally, the SE846. The SE846 is one of the highest regarded IEMs available. Some consider it to truly be their ‘grail’ IEM. The SE846 houses 4 drivers in each earpiece in order to achieve “extended high-end clarity and unparalleled low-end performance”.
