Sonos Roam Will Be Launching Next Week

Sonos is planning to hold an event next week where they will announce new products and thanks to a new leak by The Verge, we now know that one of the products will be a new portable speaker named Sonos Roam.

Unlike other Sonos speakers, the Sonos Roam is a portable speaker that is a bit smaller than the Move portable speaker by the audio company. It looks more like your average travel speaker than other Sonos products.

According to The Verge, the fully-waterproof Roam will measure 6.2 x 2.5 x 2.5-inches (157.4 x 63.5 x 63.5mm) and weigh around a pound (0.45kg). It will be priced at $169.

When it comes to connectivity, the Roam will work with WiFi and connect to other Sonos speakers at home, but it will also work with Bluetooth if you take it outside as it offers up to 10 hours of music playback.

The new speaker will come with a USB cable in the box, but users will also have the option of wireless charging. An optional wireless charging dock will be available to buy separately for $49.

Just like other Sonos products, the new speaker will be available in two colors, black or white. The Verge claims that shipping will start on the 20th of April.

There is still no information on whether this will be the only product announced during the event next week. Rumor has it that we might finally see the first pair of headphones developed by Sonos.
