The new Trekz Air looks like a perfect fit for sports lovers

open-ear headphones are becoming more and more popular every day after bone-conduction of sound wasn’t really that common to use, companies like Aftershokz are working on making this way of delivering sound more usable; these new open-ear headphones (Trekz Air) which are basically an enhanced version of the companies previous Trekz Titanium, uses bone-conduction to deliver sound, and has some cool tricks to show us.

The main difference between the Trekz Titanium and the Treks Air is the weight; the Air weighs less, is more flexible, and it has a more skinny body build. the main design lines are still basically the same as the Titanium version so as most of the specs, the headphones still give 20Hz ~ 20KHz and it still has the same playback time of 6 hours. The main difference between the two is that the Air will have Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, and will have a standby time of 20 days instead of 10 days in the Titanium version.

The Trekz Air has a built in microphone that can be used to make calls, the button on the left earpiece allows you to accept phone calls, hang up calls and play/pause tracks on your phone. The Trekz Air are also IP55 certified so you don’t need to worry about those wet days, whether it’s a sweaty or a rainy day, the Trekz Air can handle it.

The Comfortable design of the Trekz Air makes it perfect for those with an active lifestyle and sports lovers, and it using bone-conduction makes it even more perfect for it allows you to stay aware of your surroundings. This also means that the headphones won’t be able to deliver certain sounds in certain conditions, but that’s a price to pay for having such comfortable headphones.

The Trekz Air will be available for preorder in the US next month, for 150$, you can also learn more about these headphones in the Aftershokz web page.
