Vision Ears Announce 3 New Custom IEM Models

Visitors to CanJam Singapore as well as participants in Vision Ears ‘ Hong Kong and Shanghai preview tours have already had a chance to check out these 3 new models, but now Vision Ears have officially announced them and released more in-depth details of each model.

First up is the Elysium, which is also the first IEM from Vision Ears to feature a hybrid driver configuration.
The 4-driver setup is arranged with a 3-way crossover network, but in addition also exclusively features what Vision Ears calls their  HALC (High Precision Acoustic Leveling Chamber) design which allows them to finely tune the dynamic driver.
According to Vision Ears the driver setup is as follows:

  • 1 BA driver for the lows:
    • We used BA technology for creating a full but precise bass which is well balanced and stunningly layered. Although BA drivers are known to reproduce a rather analytical sound, we were able to tune the bass unit of our ELYSIUM in a way you never would expect from this type of technology. A fine and beautiful harmony between precision and smoothness.
  • 1 dynamic driver for the mids:
    • We decided to use a dynamic driver that was procedurally tuned for our requirements, giving a smooth and rich presence to the middle frequencies. Middle frequencies are not easy to define well. They contain the most versatile information in music and if well tuned, make you feel right right in the middle of your music. Our dynamic driver is featured with a “High-precision Acoustic Leveling Chamber” (HALC), finely tuning the sound of our dynamic driver to highest accuracy. Development of this high precision component was a demanding challenge and is exclusively featured in Vision Ears ELYSIUM.
  • 2 electrostatic tweeters for the highs:
    • With a state-of-the-art dual electrostatic tweeter for the high frequencies, we achieved sparkling highs, so crystal clear and engaging that you might even feel the breath of the musician. The technology of electrostatic drivers is well known to high demanding audiophile people but they were yet mainly equipped in high class headphones. In the recent time this technology is gaining more and more ground with IEM’s all over the world, making the huge benefits of electrostatic drivers now portable. Due to a voltage transformer inside the earphones the electrostatic tweeters don’t need any external power source but only a high quality and powerful amplifier inside your DAP. The result are lively, airy highs with breathtaking purity, precision and richness. A magnificent and captivating journey to an unparallel level of enjoyment.

The other 2 new models, the VE 3.2 and VE 4.2, are more of an update or refresh of their relevant predecessors, the VE 3 and VE 4.

For the VE 3.2, Vision Ears has said that “the new version of VE 3 ( VE 3.2) is keeping the old values but improving them all. With smooth but detailed lows, spacious and natural mids and highs the VE 3.2 is a true all-rounder giving you control on stage and pure enjoyment as an audiophile. Its improved analytic sound signature is exceptional for a 3 driver system.”

The VE 3.2’s 3-way-system includes a single driver for each of the major frequency ranges, typically the bass, mids, and high frequency ranges.

On the other hand, they’ve stated for the VE 4.2 that it is anything but neutral. Its powerful but still precise lows are pushing you right to the wall. face! Mids and highs are well balanced to withstand the unrestrained lows, giving you control on stage and pure enjoyment as an audiophile.

Just like the Elysium, the VE 4.2 features a 4-driver system and a 3-way crossover network. We’re getting dual drivers to handle the bass frequencies, where as the mids and high frequencies each get a dedicated driver.
