Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds update with Alexa support

Earlier this year, Sony has released its latest wireless earbuds with ANC that quickly became one of the most popular models in the category based on their performance. Now, Sony is releasing a new WF-1000XM3 earbuds update that will add a few new features to the already beloved model. 

The new firmware update adds a volume control abilities to the earbuds. In practice, this means that you will be able to choose the earbud you prefer and use it to adjust the volume instead of noise cancellation. Unfortunately, it is one or the either and you won’t be able to control both at the same time. Other than that, the update also includes support for yet another voice assistant, this time it being Alexa, meaning you will be able to use Amazon’s voice assistant to control music playback. Last but not least, the update will give allow you to keep track of the battery life of the charging case through the compatible Sony app. 

The WF-1000XM3 earbuds update is already available but there are minor requirements that are necessary. This includes at least Android 5.0 or iOS 11.0, depending on your smartphone, as well as the latest version of the Sony Connect Headphones app (currently 6.0.0). Just connect your earbuds to the phone, download the update through the app and you are ready to try out the new features.
