Microsoft Announces Windows 365

After the announcement of Windows 11, the latest Windows OS, Microsoft is announcing Windows 365, a new operating system based in the cloud. Users will be able to access Windows 365 from any device with an internet connection without having the actual OS installed on their hardware. This means that you can access this new cloud-based Windows desktop from your Mac, Linux PC, iPad, iPhone, or Android devices.

According to Microsoft, the Windows 365 service will launch on August 2. Users will be able to access the service from any device with an internet connection and is able to handle the Windows requirements.  Just like any other cloud-based service, Windows 365 will let you pick up exactly where you left even when you lose internet connection or you switch from one device to another.

This will allow users to have their Windows PC with them on the run and access it from any device. For example, if you have a Chromebook but you still like to use Windows for specific tasks, you can access your own Windows 10 from the browser on your Chromebook.

At launch, the service will include access to Windows 10, but when Windows 11 starts rolling out, it will also be included in the 365 packages. It will also be available only for businesses at first. Microsoft will offer different options with different prices, but the service will have a per-user monthly subscription cost. Single-person businesses are also included in the options, but there is no news on when a consumer option of the service will be available.

This will help small and large businesses to set up cloud Windows PC, and manage access and permissions making working from home even easier. It’s worth mentioning that Microsoft already offers Office 365 which was recently rebranded to Microsoft 365, which offers access to a cloud-based version of Microsoft Office suite.

There is still no information on the pricing of this new service but will update you as soon as Microsoft announces anything.
