Microsoft announced the affordable Xbox Stereo Headset

Xbox has announced a new gaming headset that will be added to its product lineup right next to the Wireless Headset announced in February. The new Xbox Stereo Headset has a very similar design like the rest of the lineup, but comes at a much more affordable price.

Being the more affordable model also means that there are a few features that are not included such as wireless connectivity and, instead, the headset has to be connected using the 3.5mm cable. Nonetheless, it is compatible with Windows PCs, Xbox Series X and S, as well as Xbox One X and S. You can also use it on your smartphone, but will probably require a dongle if it’s a newer model. The headset supports Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic, as well as DTS Headphone:X.

As mentioned, the design is very similar to the previous Xbox headset, with simple black housing and a discrete company logo on the cups. Of course, the ear cups have soft cushions for greater comfort, as well as a unidirectional microphone that will definitely come in handy for the group gaming sessions. However, one of the features that are only available on the previous model is the ability to adjust the volume by rotating the ear cup. Instead, the Stereo Headset features a more common approach to on-ear controls.

The new Xbox Stereo Headset is going to be officially released on the 21st of September, but you can already pre-order the headset from Xbox’ website for $60.
