xDuoo Introduces TA-30 Tube DAC-AMP

Outside of China, and certainly the audiophile community, xDuoo is not exactly a house-hold name. The fact is, they simply haven’t been able to penetrate the western market anywhere close to the degree that the likes of FiiO and Shanling. However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that xDuoo is just some “new kid on the block”, because they have released some very interesting products which includes numerous portable player, and both portable and desktop DAC-AMP systems. Recently they’ve introduced a new product – the TA-30 – which is a complete DAC-AMP system featuring a really cool retro vacuum-tube circuit design and even sports Bluetooth connectivity.

Some of the main attractions on the spec sheet includes the following:

  • Flagship Level ES9038Q2M DAC chip
  • Three Tube Setup, one big vacuum tube Adopt 5Z3P tube for rectification of sound and providing it a thick tube-like quality, and two Adopt ECC82 tubes to amplify the sound without any noise or jitter and make it sweet and refined.
  • Flagship level Bluetooth Qualcomm chip CSR8675
  • Multiple Audio Input options
  • Decoding up to PCM 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 natively

It’s also important to note that the TA-30 was also designed to be able to output a fair amount of power, up to 3000mW into a 32-ohm load. Of course, that doesn’t exactly make the TA-30 the most powerful DAC-AMP out there, but 3W is still way more power than what you’d ever need for the vast majority of headphones out there, and it is also a considerably more power than what you’d get from most DAC-AMPs since such power figures would usually only be found on dedicated headphone amplifiers.
What is also particularly welcome is that the Bluetooth connectivity on the TA-30 supports a wide variety of formats, including LDAC, apt-X, apt-X HD, apt-X LL, AAC and regular SBC.

Such high-end specs do come at a price, though, and in the case of the TA-30 that price is listed as being $710.
