YouTube opens up mobile live streaming to popular users

8 months after announcing it would support live-streaming from smartphones, YouTube finally extended its mobile live-streaming service to reach any content creator with 10,000 subscribers, and announced that it will eventually give all people access to its new service.

YouTube said in a blog post that it will focus to find new ways to let creators and viewers interact with each other and the videos they watch.

While Youtube was an inspiration for the entire web back in the day. Today, its announcement for one of the most consumed services in the last 5 years came a little bit late as many social media apps already dominated the live-streaming space in one way or another.

Last year, YouTube introduced mobile live-streaming for the first time at VidCon but it didn’t make it available for the public but only for a selected group of partners, including The Young Turks, AIB, and Platica Polinesia.  However, it seems that YouTube have done enough tests and after announced its support for the 4K live-streaming, it decided that it’s the time to open the technology for Its users.

If you have more than 10k Subscribers on your channel you can enjoy live streaming now on your Android or iOS, but make sure you have the last version of the app installed on it.
