MacBook Pro gets a Touch Bar and latest gen processor

Apple has refreshed some of the devices from its laptop line as the back-to-school season slowly approaches. This includes the addition of True Tone to the Retina display on the MacBook Air, as well as multiple improvements to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, including the Touch Bar. Both devices are also getting a significant student discount.

Touch Bar was apart of most devices from the Pro laptop line ever since 2016 except the 13-inch MacBook Pro which is finally getting it as well instead of the physical buttons. Besides this, the laptop is also getting the latest 8th generation quad-core processor which is a significant performance improvement compared to the previous one. Besides the introduction of Touch Bar, users can expect the Touch ID, Apple T2 Security Chip as well as True Tone Retina display that adjusts the color temperature of the display automatically and provides a more comfortable long-term viewing experience.

MacBook Pro is going to be available for $1,299, or $1,199 for college students. At the same time, the MacBook Air is going to be cheaper than usual to start with, sold for $1,099 or $999 for college students. The two devices are a part of the Apple’s Back To School promotion that gifts them a pair of Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones with each laptop purchase.
