Amazon has held an event in which it not only announced Luna, a new cloud gaming service, but also a new product generation of many of its smart devices including the new Amazon Echo 4. Here is everything you need to know about the new smart speaker, from the completely redesigned housing to the new Alexa abilities.
Obviously, the first thing we have to mention is the new design. After three generations of quite similar design, Amazon finally made a leap and introduced a spherical housing for its line of smart speakers. Amazon Echo still holds the minimalist design that will fit in anywhere in the house, but takes on some features from the retired Echo Plus model that will make it even more desirable in your everyday life.
When it comes to internals, Amazon’s smart speaker is powered by AZ1 Neural Edge silicon, which has a dual effect on performance as it not only processes different commands faster, but also uses less energy to do so. On the speaker side, 4th gen Echo is compatible with Dolby Stereo sound supported by 3-inch woofer and dual firing tweeters. On top of this, Amazon has included other features such as premium adaptive sound, support for Zigbee, Amazon Sidewalk, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy, all of which further improve the overall Echo performance. Alexa has also been improved, given a more natural language and the ability of several personal profiles for the whole household. Naturally, some of the important features have been carried on to the new generation, including music streaming service support for Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and others, as well as support for other smart devices around your household which you can control using simple voice commands.
Amazon Echo is going to be released on the 22nd of October alongside the new generation of Echo Dot and Echo Dot Clock, as well as the new Echo Dot Kids that will have panda and tiger design options. The price is already set at $99.99 as the speaker is already available for preorder, with three color options available: Twilight Blue, Glacier White, and Charcoal.
