You can now follow Archie motion comics in the Spotify app
You have probably come across Archie Comics at some point in your life, the popular comic book publisher that covers humours, action-adventure and superhero character and their adventures. Well, Spotify is making a step and teaming up with the Archie Comics to make video series, each episode being based on Archie comics and available on Spotify. Even though Spotify has unsuccessfully tried to expand to video besides just music streaming couple of years ago, presence of Archie motion comics in the Spotify app is closer to something users of Spotify app would be in for and in line with the visual podcasts Spotify launched at the beginning of the year.
The Archie Comics series that you will be able to find on Spotify app is “Spotlight Archie – The New Riverdale”, each episode lasting around 10 minutes. After you start each comic, it will continue to auto play through the episode and you will hear the voice acting as well as the music, besides seeing the comic panels on your smartphone. The text will still be present if you wish to read it, but as it auto plays pretty fast, it is not as convenient as just letting yourself listen and enjoy. The first six episodes of the series are already available on Spotify and you can access them through your account. Keep in mind that the storyline follows the original comic rather than the popular Riverdale series, even though the characters and their background stories do match.
