Bose QuietComfort 45 Headphones are Announced

Bose is announcing the release date for its long-awaited QuietComfort 45 wireless noise-cancelling headphones. The new Bose QC45 will offer better noise cancellation, longer battery life, improved call performance, as well as an “Aware Mode” which is what Bose is calling transparency mode.

Starting with the main feature of the headphones, the QC45 are using Bose’s Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology to provide an even better noise cancellation than their predecessors. sing multiple mics hidden in the earcup, the noise measured, compared, and then cancelled using an opposite signal. According to Bose, the new headphones will be able to detect and cancel more mid-range frequencies like the chatter in an office, or the sound of trains and buses while commuting. However, users will not be able to control the noise cancellation level.

To ensure high-quality audio, the QC45 are using Bose’s own TriPort acoustic architecture and Volume-optimized Active EQ. The former vents the earcups to add depth and fullness, while the latter boosts highs and lows to maintain the same high-fidelity performance.

Compared to the Bose 700 headphones, the QC45 has maintained the classic look of their predecessors. However, there are some subtle changes as the company removed the pleats on the earpads and closed some exposed gaps to create smoother transitions. The same classic design means that you can still fold the headphones up and pack them in the provided carrying case.

As for controls, Bose decided to keep the classic physical buttons on the right earcup, this includes the play/pause, volume controls, voice assistant, and power buttons. The left earcup features one button that allows users to switch between Quiet Mode which turns ANC on and Aware mode which turns it off and allows them to hear their surroundings.

The new Bose QC45 boast an extended battery life as they can provide up to 24 hours of music playback from one charge. That’s up from 20 hours on the QC35 II. if you’re in a hurry, a 15-minute charge using the USB-C port will provide you with 3 hours of battery.

The Bose QC45 will be available in black and light grey color options. They are available for pre-order now, and shipping will start on September 23rd. They are priced at $329.95.
