OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro Price, Release Date, and Specs

OnePlus is a company that is famous for its high-spec, yet still relatively cheap smartphones. Now, the fast-growing Chines company is trying to do the same with TVs. OnePlus announced two new TV sets that might create a strong competition for other big TV companies. The OnePlus Q1 TV and Q1 Pro were first announced and released in India, but it is expected for them to be released soon across other countries.

OnePlus TV was first announced in September 2018. The company said that their goal is to offer the customers a more connected TV experience, to add their touch on the smart TV industry, they also said that their TV will offer full smartphone integration.

OnePlus TV Design

As we mentioned before, there will be two modules of the OnePlus TV the Q1 and Q1 Pro. they both feature a 55-inch display. The difference between the two modules would be the Q1 Pro comes with a 50W eight-speaker soundbar that slides down from the bottom of the screen, while the Q1 module doesn’t.

The overall design of the TV is minimalistic with an elegant stand to hold the TV. while the front of the TV looks pretty much like any other TV, the ports at the back are hidden behind a magnetic plate making the rear side looks as elegant as the front even though you might never look at it. You can also find a Vesa mount on the rear side in order to hang the TV on the wall.

OnePlus TV Specifications

The OnePlus TV Q1 series features 4K HDR panel, in addition to Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. Both panels are QLED panels and OnePlus is promising a “very high color range of NTSC 120 percent”.

To power such powerful TVs, they both feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor that runs the two operating systems on the TV which are Android TV and the OnePlus version of Android TV, OxygenOS TV.

Both TV support Dolby Atmos which might not be that big of a thing on the Q1, but it definitely will give the Q1 Pro a boost with the 8 speaker slide soundbar. You can check the rest of the Specifications in the picture below.

The remote is quite simple with only a few buttons. It features a Google Assistant dedicated button which will serve as a trigger for the Assistant. The sound controls are on the side of the remote. And from the photo, we can notice that it has a charging port which means that you will need to charge your remote. We can expect to see an app that you can use to control your TV in case the remote is charging.

The new OnePlus TV is compatible with both Google Assistant and Alexa, in addition to a built-in Chromecast as part of the whole Android TV experience which will allow users to cast any type of content to their TV instantly, as well as mirror their screens to the TV.

There is one small issue with the new OnePlus TV though, Netflix will not be supported on the TV yet. While we’re not sure why. We hope that this issue can be resolved in the coming few weeks or months.

OnePlus TV release date

OnePlus announced their Q1 and Q1 Pro on the 26th of September in Delhi, India, and the company announced that both modules will be available on Amazon India on the 28th of September.

While there is no word yet on the release date of the OnePlus TV in other countries, CEO Pete Lau previously confirmed via OnePlus’ community forums that the company is working with partners in North America, China, and Europe to release the new TV on a global scale.

OnePlus TV Price

Since OnePlus released the TV only in India so far, so the prices that were announced were only in rupees. The Q1 will cost ₹69,900 which is around $990 US. while the Q1 Pro will sell for ₹99,900 which is around $1400 US.

It’s worth mentioning that the prices usually vary from one region to another so we will have to wait until the official release in other countries to know the official prices.
