PowerBeats 4 Wireless Headphones Are On The Way

The FCC received a new filing by Apple for new PowerBeats headphones which will most probably be PowerBeats 4 wireless headphones. These new headphones are expected to feature support for “Hey Siri” and therefore Apple H1 chip which Apple used in their PowerBeats Pro headphones.

Back in December, an iOS 13.3 update showed evidence that Apple is developing a new generation of its true wireless headphones Powerbeats with the support of the “Hey Siri” feature. The update back then mentioned the new headphones as “Powerbeats4”. So the FCC filing doesn’t come as a surprise.

However, the filing includes a drawing of the new headphones and they look exactly like the PowerBeats 3. This will disappoint some Apple fans that were waiting for the PowerBeats 4 to be fully wireless and without the neckband.

The new headphones are expected to be Apple’s replacement to the PowerBeats 3. The filing showed that they have a model number of “A2015” and are described as “Power Beats Wireless” in the US regulatory documents.

Having the “Hey Siri” functionality means that Apple will be using its proprietary H1 chip for connectivity. With the Apple H1 chip, the new Powerbeats will most likely support the “Announce Messages with Siri” feature which will allow Siri to read messages for you without the need to unlock your iPhone.

It is still unclear when will the PowerBeats 4 arrive on the market. However, Apple is expected to release a few different audio products in the next couple of months including Apple over-ear headphones, new AirPods, as well as new models of iPad Pro. the rumor says that we should expect an official Apple event by mid-March.
