Q2 True-wireless IEMs Announced By BGVP

A little while ago, BGVP received quite a lot of hype, especially as a result of the high praises they got for their DM6 IEMs. The DM6 was constantly included in lists of the best affordable IEMs especially given their sub-$200 price-tag. However, over the last 2 years true-wireless technology has not only become more refined, but also considerably more affordable to produce. As such, there as been an absolute boat-load of manufacturers trying their hand at making their own true-wireless products, and even those making ultra-affordable products are now in a position of bringing true-wireless solutions to the market. One such manufacturer is BGVP who has now introduced their Q2 – a true-wireless set of IEMs.

On the face of it, the Q2 is essentially like practically every other true-wireless products in the sense that you get two individual IEMs along with an included storage/carrying case.
The 3D printed resin (acrylic) shells offering an ergonomic design and is available in three different colour variants, namely Obsidian Black, Roland Purple, and Starry Blue. Inside each earpiece sits a dual-balanced-armature driver configuration. The faceplates are also touch sensitive, which allows you to easily play/pause your music or to handle an incoming phone call.

However, what makes the Q2 very different to other true-wireless IEMs is that it’s not just a true-wireless set, but instead it can be used as a traditional wired set of IEMs too. What BGVP has gone ahead and done here is to incorporate an MMCX connection on each housing which then bypasses all of the internal wireless goodies and battery and allows you to simply plug it into a regular 3.5mm single-ended headphone jack by using the cable included in the packaging, or you can use whatever MMCX aftermarket cable you wish.

Despite this very innovative approach, the Q2 will set you back only $100, which is nearly half of what even the DM6 retailed for. It can be purchased on the HiFiGo website as of writing this article.
