Fidue Sirius MK-II – Reference Level Studio Monitor

Fidue have been around for a while now and their line of in-ear monitors span from products featuring designed for audiophiles all the way to more reference signatures. The Sirius MK-II is one of those focused on simulating the response of a reference studio monitor.

The Sirius MK-II features a five-driver hybrid configuration comprised of 4 balanced armatures in addition to a dynamic driver which has a Graphene-coated diaphragm, in contrast with the previous generation’s dynamic driver which had to make do with a high-polyester diaphragm.
However, the design of an IEM doesn’t just stop at the particular drivers to be used, but rather the exact design of the housing and its various internal cavities or “acoustic chambers” will also play a large role in the signature. In the case of the Sirius MK-II, Fidue have apparently designed some very specific 3D acoustic chambers to give the drivers room to breathe and to aid in creating a more realistic stereo image. How an IEM fits in the ear is yet another area which can dramatically influence our experience with the product. The Sirius MK-II have a smaller size than its predecessor, and thus makes more a more ergonomic and ultimately more comfortable fit, which is especially important for longer listening sessions.

For the cable, Fidue have gone for a ‘hybrid-cable’ which has a total of 8 individual cables of both single-crystal copper cables as well as silver cables which is then braided together with one another, and then finally terminated with a 2.5mm balanced connection on on end and MMCX connectors on the other end of each channel. Included in the sales package are a set of 3.5mm single-ended, 6.35mm single-ended, and 4.4mm Pentaconn balanced connectors.

The Sirius MK-II is already available to be purchased and can be found on the HiFiGo website for $969.
