Roli Software: Software synthesizer

Equator

As a software synthesizer for MIDI Polyphonic Expression, Equator is one of Roli’s software designed to add more expression to any music project. With a variety of sound design tools that are very simple to get used to and navigate, as well as hundreds of multidimensional sounds including acoustic, electronic and hybrids that keep getting added to the software, you can create anything. Equator contains Synth Panel for sound generation and Modulation Panel for adding modulation to any parameter in real time. ROLI PLAY

ROLI PLAY is a free app for iOS and is serving as a free companion app for the Lightpad Block which is a MIDI pad controller that delivers sounds with precision over a pressure-responsive surface that lights up by each touch. Using the app, mastering techniques and movements on the Lightpad is much easier as you get a walk through overall features of the controller. ROLI PLAY includes a very wide range of sounds that can be used for practice and experimentation, and finally to create personal tracks with sounds, loops, chords etc. At the end, the creation can be shared with friends and family through the app for further feedback.

NOISE

NOISE is a free app for both iOS and Android devices, allowing you to create music on a smartphone anywhere you go. It uses the same principle Roli Seaboards do of using gestures such as strike, glide, slide, press, and lift to create melodies, beats and final music creations using over 400 available sounds. As it is intended as a learning app as well, there is a Learn mode through which gestures can be easily understood and mastered. Besides this, there are two instrumental interfaces to choose from: Seaboard View that resembles a keypad or Lightpad View that features a grid layout. You can use both to sketch ideas, record them, add effects and create final songs.

Cypher 2

Described as “a sound design adventure”, Cypher 2 software provides a variety of sound design tools in combination with over a thousand sounds including presets. It allows a very high level of expression by using the analog-modeled oscillators, waveshaping, and other tools. It also includes an upgraded version of Roli’s signature Trans Mod modulation system. Cypher2 software is priced around $200, but it comes for free as a part of a software bundle when you purchase Blocks or any of the three Seaboards: Block, Rise 25 or Rise 49. It is compatible with both Mac and Windows.

Strobe 2

Strobe 2 is a software polysynth that synthesizes and enhances the features of the original sound created by analog modeling. Some of the features include effects section, deeper modulation processing, preset-morphing, revamped arpeggiator and full MIDI Polyphonic Expression compatibility for 5D modulation. Strobe 2 is priced at $179, but it comes for free as a part of a software bundle when you purchase Seaboard Block, Rise 25, Rise 49 or the Lightpad Block M. The software is compatible with both Mac and Windows.

BFD 3

BFD 3 is the third generation of FXpansion’s acoustic drum software, with added new levels of realism and other new features. The software includes different kits, mix-ready presets and modeling technology which altogether delivers uncompromising details. The interface upgrade brings new mixer and sound browser easy to use. BFD 3 software normally costs $349 but is currently for sale at $175. It also comes for free as a part of a software bundle when you purchase Seaboard Block, Rise 25, Rise 49 and Lightpad Block M. It is compatible with both Mac and Windows.
