Spotify Price Increase to Start in May

Spotify is officially raising the subscription prices of some of its plans for users in the UK and a few European countries. The US. Family Plan subscribers will also be afflicted by the price increase.

The leading music streaming service has sent emails to subscribers informing them that the prices will increase starting April 30th. The new price increase will affect the Premium Student plan which will increase from £4.99/€4.99 a month to £5.99/€5.99 a month, and Premium Duo which will increase from £12.99/€12.49 a month to £13.99/€13.99 a month.

Spotify price increase will also hit the Family Plan which allows up to 6 users with the biggest increase in prices in the UK and Europe as the monthly subscription fee will increase from £14.99/€14.99 to £16.99/€17.99. The US. Family plans will only increase by one dollar from $14.99 to $15.99 per month. 

Fortunately, the regular Premium prices will not be affected by the price increase, at least for now.

To make it easier for your subscribers to receive the news, Spotify announced that all existing subscribers will have one more month at the old prices meaning that the new prices will take effect in the June billing period. 

Earlier this year, Spotify announced a new Spotify HiFi subscription plan but without any information about its price. With the current price hike, we are wondering how much the new HiFi plan will cost. 

Spotify is also launching a new podcast subscription platform that will allow podcast listeners to subscribe to their favorite podcasts to receive ad-free content or just to support creators on the platform.
