Version 1.3.1 of Official Fiio Music App for iOS Released

Fiio is well-known in the portable Hi-Fi world for providing great quality, yet affordable audio devices. Over the last few years they have been consistently and aggressively expanding their product portfolio with various desktop and potable DACs, AMPs, portable music players, IEMs headphone cables, and other accessories.

A little over a week ago Fiio introduced a few more products to their lineup at the Autumn Launch Event, most importantly of which were the Pro version of their current F9 flagship IEM, as well as an all-new portable DAC/AMP – the Q5.
But among these products they also also lifted the veil off of something entirely new for Fiio, a music player app for iOS. Whilst an Android version is still in the works, they’ve been hard at work to improve the iOS app, and have now released version 1.3.1.

Updates and Additions for Version 1.3.1

The updated version brings a couple of additional features and fixes such as:

  • Added gapless playback
  • Added support for embedded album art
  • Added the ability to search for albums and/or artists
  • Added CUE sheet display
  • Added the ability to play an entire folder with a single click
  • Fixed an issue of noise being generated when ffw or rwd within a DSD track
  • Fixed a few random crashes
  • Other functional optimisations
  • Added support for German, Japanese, and traditional Chinese language.

One could argue that some of those “added” functionalities should have been included in the initial public release of the app, but it’s good to see that Fiio is striving to improve the app nonetheless.
