Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: Everything You Need To Know

Xiaomi has announced today its latest flagship that is definitely worthy of its name. Being the new flagship, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra brings so many improvements compared to the Mi 11, but what takes away the spotlight is the very advanced camera setup that even includes a second screen. Here is everything you need to know about the new flagship, from its features and design to the price and availability.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Specs & Design

Even though Mi 11 was already a pretty solid phone, the new Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra definitely takes the spotlight with a bump in many specs across the board. Starting with the processor, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset which means it will also support 5G connectivity. This is combined with 8 or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage but it will not have an SD card slot. The battery has also been upgraded to a 5,000mAh to support the dual-display design and it supports wireless fast-charging using the in-house 6x supercharge technology.

Besides the camera housing, the design is very simple with minimal bezels around the 6.8-inch AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness reaches 1,700 nits and has HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. Even though there is no 3.5mm headphone jack (which we are already pretty much used to), it has a stereo speaker setup by Harman Kardon. The housing is made out of ceramic and has an IP68 water resistance rating. It will come with the Android 11 operating system out of the box.

Camera

Now, let’s focus on the camera. It is very obvious that Xiaomi put a lot in the development of the camera setup on the new Mi 11 Ultra, especially considering it has an advanced feature that we don’t really see on other flagships: mini display. The triple-lens setup includes a 50MP main sensor, combined with a 48MP ultrawide and 48MP telephoto sensors. The camera housing takes up a significant top portion of the device, but that is because it also has the 1.1” OLED secondary display. We are yet to see how practical this feature is, but the company says it has multiple purposes, from a selfie viewfinder to a notification alert display when the phone is facing the surface. The front camera is located in the top left corner of the display with a simple punch-hole housing and a 20MP wide lens.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Price & Availability

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is going to be available globally with the base model starting at around $900. It will be available in China starting on the 2nd of April, but global sales will follow soon too. The ceramic housing will be available in two different color options: Black and White, but Xiaomi is planning on releasing another special edition model in Marble Ceramic which will come with the highest specs available. Different vegan leather cases are also going to be available alongside the device in a few color options including Blue and Orange.
