Samsung announces three new AKG headphones

Since we heard about the acquisition of Harmon and AKG, the big names in the audio industry, we were waiting to see the result of this huge deal, we have seen the first result of the AKG acquisition when Samsung decided to ship AKG earbuds with some of its latest smartphones, but that was not everything, and it was literally just the start, today we see the second result of this deal when Samsung announces three new AKG wireless headphones, the Y500, Y100, but most importantly the new AKG N700NC. So let’s take a look at these new headphones.

There is not that much to say about the Y100 headphones, basically, they are new light in-ear headphones, they weigh only 24g, and with a 2 hours charge, you can use them for up to 8 hours.

In the case of the Y500, the new headphones are on-ear headphones, with an Auto play & pause feature. You can use them for up to 33 hours with a 2.5 hours charge. So far nothing special right?

Now let’s get to the business because Samsung decided to compete with audio market leaders like Bose and Sony with the new N700NC, active noise-cancelling over-ear headphones with studio quality sound that we can call a flagship for sure.

The new N700NC have some interesting features that we can talk about, like the adaptive noise-canceling feature, which allows you to adjust the amount the ambient noise you hear; you can go full-on noise-canceling to block out everything, or you can allow some outside sounds to get it, which is safer for users who like to walk while listening to music. If you want to receive phone calls on your headphones, then the AKG N700NC has a World-class audio technology which eliminates intrusive echoes. And if we want to talk about the battery, then the new headphones can last up to 20 hours of usage from a 2 hours charge.

The first two headphones will be available starting now on both Samsung.com and Amazon, you can get the AKG Y100 for $100, while the AKG Y500 will be for $150. In the case of the AKG N700NC, the new headphones will be available later this year according to Samsung’s press release, and the price for the new flagship will be $350.
