Apple TV 4K update includes support for Dolby Atmos

Apple has announced that with the release of new tvOS 12, Apple TV 4K update will gain support for Dolby Atmos, surround system technology that creates an experience of “3D” sound. Besides this, there are some other updates to the Apple TV 4K that are coming such as screensavers and addition of Apple TV Remote on iPhones and iPads.

As Apple has promised before, all movies you have purchased before through iTunes will get an upgrade with Dolby Atmos audio all for free from fall 2018, of course if the soundtrack is available for that specific movie. This will definitely improve your movie night experience. Some movies that you can check out for Dolby Atmos audio are Paddington 2, Blade Runner 2049, Justice League, The Lego Batman Movie and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. This update makes Apple TV the only streaming service so far that supports both Dolby Atmos and Vision.

Another update in the new tvOS screensavers updates. Apple added several small details to this, including option to finally find out in which city or country that gorgeous screensaver was shot, or even to swipe between them until you find the one you prefer the most. Furthermore, Apple did not only stop on places on Earth but is collaborating with NASA to add shots from the International Space Station to their screensaver gallery of the new tvOS update.

Besides these, there are couple of other updates for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV 4th generation, such as AutoFill passwords from your other Apple devices such as iPhone or iPad so it will be much easier to sign in to Apple TV apps. You will also get an Apple TV Remote on your iPhone and iPad abeling you to quickly access Apple TV controls. Finally, as more and more video providers are collaborating with Apple TV 4K in delivering their subscription services to more customers, you can expect that Apple’s collaboration with Charter Communications in US will be just the start.
