Battlefield V review – A Throwback To WWII

Since its start, the Battlefield gaming series is considered to be one of the biggest first-person shooting and war series ever. Many things have changed since the first version of the game that was released in 2002 until the last version which is Battlefield V, but the main theme of the game didn’t change over time. The decision of the developing studio of this famous gaming series (DICE) to go back to WWII after presenting WWI in Battlefield I was widely criticized despite the many updates and improvements that we haven’t seen before. So without further ado, here’s our review of Battlefield V where we will discuss all the new improvements as well as the future of the series.

The first reveal trailer of the game got a lot of negative reactions from the fans of the series. The trailer simply wasn’t as exciting as Battlefield 1 trailer that broke some records in the gaming industry. Although we have waited until the official release of the game to try it and give our full review, the result wasn’t any better!

Battlefield V review – Throwback To WWII

Battlefield fans have been waiting for the new title to come out for quite a while now, especially after the success with Battlefield 1which takes us back to WWI. Fans were expecting a more futuristic environment for the new installment of the game. After all, they had their time with the old weaponry in the previous installment, which was excellently executed. But it looks like EA DICE decided to stick to the timeline and take us back in time to WWII with this new title of Battlefield. Even though Battlefield V has a lot of updates and improvements, and new expanded and somehow accurate maps, sticking to the traditional world war theme wasn’t the best idea.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that this installment of the game is not as good or not as exciting as the previous one. There are many exciting improvements such as the new weaponry updates that were presented for the first time in the series, we also have the new improvements in gameplay and classes like the medics and support classes which became more realistic and efficient. Perhaps the main problem facing Battlefield V is all the similarities with Battlefield 1. Although there are many different weapons and maps, the two installments are still very similar to each other.

Gameplay, and Mechanics

Perhaps the most exciting improvement that Battlefield V brought us is the new vibration mechanics. EA DICE tried to have a first-hand experience of all the weapons in the game by having real-life trials, then tried to simulate the same recoil caused by the weapons into the game. This will give the players more realistic gaming experience. Fans of the series are excited to see the application of such mechanics in the future versions of the game.

When it comes to gameplay, EA DICE really surpassed itself. Movements and other components of gameplay are fast and smooth. Battlefield V offers us a new gameplay experience that we haven’t seen in previous installments. It only takes a player a few minutes to see a huge difference. Although the overall theme of the game is similar to Battlefield 1, the gameplay certainly isn’t.

Teamwork in Battlefield V is more important than ever, meaning you can’t really win the battle without having a good squad that includes all types of classes. Even though all characters in a squad can bring players back to life, the process takes much less time with a medic. This update was much needed as the medic class was rare or inactive most of the time. While the game is still a first-person shooting game, playing alone without a squad will not get you enough points to win the battle.

A Cornerstone For Future Titles!

Whether you like the world war theme or not, trying Battlefield V is a must if you like the gaming series or even the developing studio. This installment of the game puts down the cornerstone for future installments with so many promising improvements. We can’t wait to see the next version of Battlefield, and hope that it will present a new futuristic experience.
