Beoplay E6 wireless earbuds by B&O announced at IFA 2018

Bang & Olufsen gained a lot of attention with their new BeoSound Edge speaker at this years IFA conference in Berlin, but that is not their only product that was at the display. There were also the new high-end earphones, Beoplay E6 behind-the-neck earbuds which showed their presence.

Beoplay E6 earbuds are lightweight earphones by B&O and are primarily designed for use on the go. They have integrated on-wire microphone that you can also use to control music and use voice activation for your smartphone’s assistant, besides taking calls. The earbuds feature the signature Band & Olufsen sound that you can adjust using the Beoplay App and the ToneTouch interface.

In order to connect your smartphone to the earbuds, all you need is Bluetooth 4.2 version. One of the features added that is truly useful is the magnetic touch that makes the two earbuds stick together in order to securely stay around your neck when you are not using them. Beoplay E6 does have a 5-hour long battery life, but you will still have to charge them eventually while you are on the go. B&O took care of it by allowing you to charge them by connecting the charging cable from the power bank or outlet to the earbuds cable and let them charge while you are enjoying your music.

Talking about the design, Beoplay E6 earbuds have a light rubber coated wire that goes behind your neck and stays put during all your activities. The housing is also made out of rubber in order to be sweat and dust resistant, while there is an aluminum detail with the logo on each earbud. In order to increase the comfort and securely fit into your ears, you get to personalize them using any of the sizes of ear fins or ear tips offered, as well as the foam tip option.

Beoplay E6 will cost $299, but the earbuds will not be available for sale before 14th September. Moreover, you will be able to choose between the classic Black color option, light Sand, and finally the Dark Plum option that was said to be inspired by Moroccan design and such influences.
