IFA 2018: Flare S+ is the first smart speaker offered by Anker

If all the Alexa-enabled speakers from IFA 2018 that we’ve mentioned so far were not by your liking, there is still hope as the list of the brands that added a voice assistant to their speakers is quite long. And it also includes Anker. As an update to the Soundcore Flare + speaker, Anker has announced their new Flare S+ smart speaker with 360 degrees sound.

The Flare S+ smart speaker offers great sound in a fairly small packaging, especially due to the BassUp technology that improves the performance. The speaker comes in a cylindrically shaped housing that is wrapped in cloth material under which are drivers that are facing away from each other in order to produce 360 degrees sound.

What makes it most different from most third-party smart speakers is that not all of them have the Alexa Mobile Accessory Kit, which Flare S+ has allowing you to access all Alexa skills through connecting to the Alexa app. You can use it to help you or control any other smart home devices connected to the network. Talking about the battery life, it can offer up to 16 hours of playback time after which it has to be recharged.

Soundcore Flare S+ smart speaker also has the waterproof feature, more specifically IPX7 rating, making it safe to use even next to the poor or even on a boat without worrying that it can get easily damaged. On the bottom of the speaker, there is a LED light ring that lights up to the beat of your music. At the moment when you are using your voice assistant, the color will be cyan, Alexa’s signature color.

You will be able to get your Anker Soundcore Flare S+ from Amazon, while the price of the device will be around $130. This smart speaker is still not available, but it is expected to come out during the holiday season later this year.
