Clubhouse Wave is the latest feeature from Clubhouse
Clubhouse is launching a new way for users to invite other users to audio chats, and the audio chatting platform is calling the new feature “Wave” according to the company’s favorite emoji. Clubhouse Wave was announced through a blog post by Clubhouse on Thursday, and it should be available for all users on both iOS and Android by now.
Clubhouse Wave feature allows users to invite friends to a live audio room by simply tapping on the waving hand emoji next to their name. They will then receive an invitation, and they can choose to accept it and immediately join the audio room. However, if the person doesn’t immediately respond to the invitation, you can continue to use Clubhouse normally. Here’s how Clubhouse explained its new feature:
“To send a Wave, swipe right on the Hallway or tap the dots icon at the bottom left of the screen. Then tape the wave button next to the person you’d like to chat with. They’ll get a notification that you said hello, and know that you’re open to chatting. If they are too, they can join a private room with you — open just to the people you waved at. You can keep it to one social circle, introduce friends from different groups to each other, or open the room up more broadly and make it for everyone.”
Clubhouse also explained that you can “Wave” at as many friends as you like. While you are waiting for friends to respond to your invitation, a small “Wave” bar will appear on your screen as you use the app. However, if you leave the app and it stays on in the background, your waves will be paused so you don’t get pulled into a room without knowing.
