Everything We Know So Far About OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro

OnePlus became a serious competitor to most popular smartphones including those from Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. Last year it released two smartphones, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, and in two weeks time it is officially going to release the next generation smartphone, OnePlus 7 together with two additional models, Pro and Pro 5G. We bring you everything known so far about them.

OnePlus 7 Specifications

Based on the previous phones released by OnePlus, 7 and 7 Pro flagships will definitely offer the best specifications for the price. The basic internal specifications are more or less going to be the same for all three models and this includes Snapdragon 855 chipset and the latest version of OxygenOS.

There will be two combinations of OnePlus 7: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage or 8GB RAM with 256GB of storage. At the same time, OnePlus 7 Pro brings more combinations with 6, 8 or 12GB RAM with 128 or 256GB of storage. The battery of the Pro model is rumored to be 4,000mAh, but there is not a lot of said about the battery of OnePlus 7 standard model.

OnePlus 7 Camera

A major update in the camera setup is expected for the OnePlus 7. Despite keeping the dual camera setup on the standard model, OnePlus 7 Pro will have three rear-facing cameras including a main 48-megapixel sensor in combination with a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel secondary and tertiary sensors. The triple camera setup is expected to contain 3x telephoto, depth sensing and quality sensors. Some kind of Nightscape mode is also expected but it not precise yet what the improvement or change is going to be from the 6T model.

OnePlus 7 Display

OnePlus 7 Pro model is expected to offer the first 90Hz refresh rate display with the first QHD+ OLED display. Based on the leaks, it appears that there will be no display notch that is present in the OnePlus 6T model. This might be only on the Pro model as it is already known that it will have a pop-up selfie camera module.

Talking about the screen size, OnePlus 7 is expected to have a 6.4-inch flat screen, while the Pro model will feature a 6.64-inch curved display.

OnePlus 7 Design

Based on leaks, it is expected that there will be two different designs of the upcoming OnePlus. OnePlus 7 will be a stepping stone between the former OnePlus 6T and the Pro model, with the similar shell as we’ve seen before. The third model with 5G network will probably look more like the Pro model.

While the standard model will not have many differences from its predecessor, OnePlus 7 Pro is going to have a small pop-up module containing a front-facing camera. The new model is going to stick to the in-display fingerprint reader that was introduced with OnePlus 6T and the physical option does not seem to be present in any of the 3 models. It is still unsure whether it will be possible to unlock the Pro with the popup module and if so, how would it work.

Another exciting detail is the first ever stereo speakers on a OnePlus smartphone, with a front-facing and downward facing speaker duo. Until now, there were no mentions whether it will be only on Pro or standard version of 7 as well.

OnePlus 7 Color

When it comes to color, OnePlus has usually released one color option at launch and then after a while another one. There are several rumors that predict that at the launch of the7, there will be three color options available: classic mirror black version, Almond and Nebula Blue.

OnePlus 7 Release Date

The official release of OnePlus 7 is going to be in London, New York, and Bangalore on May 14th, 2019, while on May 16th there will be another event in Beijing. Like every year so far, the event taking place in London will be live-streamed for those who did not manage to be there.

Pre-order of the three models is expected to be available right after the keynote speech but the official release date for each will be announced at the event.

OnePlus 7 Price

OnePlus was always known to deliver high standard phones for a more affordable price than many of its competitors but that might change as it is releasing a standard model, as well as two versions of the OnePlus 7 Pro which are going to be more expensive without a doubt.

The report reveals the potential prices of each model, with the OnePlus 7 standard model being $499. When it comes to the Pro model, the price of the entry-level device with 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage is not yet revealed but the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is expected to be €749, and the most advanced model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is expected to be €819.
