FreeBuds Pro offer intelligent dynamic noise cancelling

During its annual Developer Conference, Huawei announced today two new laptops, Watch GT 2 Pro smartwatch, and a new pair of wireless earbuds. Huawei FreeBuds Pro are the new pair of truly wireless earbuds with ANC, and here is everything you need to know about them. 

FreeBuds Pro earbuds have a design that resembles Apple AirPods but unlike other similar designs, they do have a more rectangular “tail” which gives you access to some basic commands but in an unusual way. Instead of just tapping on each bud, new Huawei buds include squeezing the “tail”, and sliding your finger over it to adjust the volume. As it is the case with most other earbuds that have silicone tips, you get three sizes which allow you to pick and choose the ones that personally feel the best, but Huawei also offers you an AI Life app that is going to guide you by telling you whether you have achieved the perfect fit. 

Huawei’s new earbuds have active noise cancelling features described as “intelligent dynamic NC”. In practice, this means that the buds will automatically detect the environment around you and switch between three modes based on the level of noise: Cozy, General, and Ultra mode. There is also the transparency mode and voice enhancement-mode if you need to be more alert.

Talking about the battery life, if you have ANC on you can get over 4 hours of playback time, but with the charging case it all adds up to around 20 hours. Of course, if you do not use this feature as much, you can enjoy your favorite beats up to 7 hours at a single charge, or up to 30 hours of playback time in total. 

Huawei FreeBuds Pro earbuds are going to be available starting from October 2020 with the price set at approximately $235 (€199). You will be able to choose from three color options: Silver Frost, Carbon Black, and Ceramic White.
