A New Leak Shows The New Google Chromecast

It’s been a few years since the release of the 3rd generation of the Chromecast, and we can easily say that Google is falling behind in the competition, but Google is planning to get back with a new Chromecast due to launch next week. A new leak shows the design of the new Google Chromecast including a new remote control.

The news was leaked by WinFuture and it shows the new Chromecast next to a new small remote control that features dedicated one-touch buttons for Netflix, YouTube, and Google Assistant.

This is the first Chromecast to feature a remote control, previous versions of Google’s streaming dongle were controlled via the Google Home app on smartphones that controls other Google smart devices. The new remote control with one-touch dedicated buttons will make it easier for users to use and control Chromecast.

The leaked photos also show a change in the design of the dongle as it will now feature an oval shape instead of the round shape that we have seen in previous Chromecasts.

There were other rumors suggesting that the new Chromecast will run Android TV OS instead of being only a streaming dongle, this might explain the slightly bigger design. Other rumors suggested that the new device will be rebranded as Google TV, or perhaps Nest TV in line with Google Home devices that were rebranded as Nest Home speakers.

It was also rumored that the new Google device will come in three different colors, summer melon, rock candy, and summer blue. And it will be priced at around $50.

Google is planning an event on the 30th of September, so we hope to take the first look at the new Chromecast then.
