Google I/O 2019: The Nest Hub Max Is The New Smart Display

Google I/O is still on, bringing on everything new Google is preparing for us this year. Google officially announced the Nest Hub Max. bringing the Nest Camera and the Google Home Hub together into one device. The Google Hub didn’t have a camera, but the Nest Hub Max has one, and it can serve as your indoor security camera, streaming live the feed of your home to your smartphone.

Having the camera, the Nest Hub can recognize your face when you get home, and it will show you a personalized home page, with suggestions that match your taste, or your upcoming tasks or reminders. This new feature is called Face Match and according to Google, the Nest Hub Max will process all the data locally on the device without anything getting uploaded to the cloud. If you have any privacy concerns about the camera, Google says that you can always know if the camera is working by checking the green light on the Nest Hub Max.

You can use Google’s new Hub to make video calls using Google Duo, the nest camera has this cool feature that adjusts itself to keep you in the center of the screen. Just like the Google Home Hub you can use the Nest Hub Max to as a control panel for other smart devices in your home, like smart lights, smart TV, or the Nest Thermostat. Of course, you can use it to watch Youtube videos, display timers, stream live content, and display photos. While you are not using the Hub Max, it will display your favorite photos from your Google Photos.

While you can enjoy stereo sound on the Hub Max, it might be hard to talk to your Google Assistant, therefore Google developed a new feature that will let you raise your hand to stop Google from doing anything and communicate with your Google Assistant.

The Nest Hub Max will be available later this summer according to Google, with a price tag of $229.
