LG brings Google Assistant new LG Tone earbuds

Even Though we did not expect to hear a lot of announcement from any tech giant in these days, putting in mind that the IFA show in Berlin will be held by the end of the month, LG surprised us and announced the newest versions of the LG Tone series of wearable audio products, the LG Tone Platinum SE alongside with the LG Tone Ultra SE. and while Google Assistant is just rolling out everywhere this year, from soundbars to other smart speakers besides the Google Home speaker, Google Assistant is coming to these new LG Tone Platinum and Ultra SE.

Like the previous Tone series earphones, both the Tone Platinum SE and Tone Ultra SE feature an around-the-neck design that keeps the weight off your ears, with earbuds that extend from the main body up to your ears. But what’s new in the Tone Ultra SE is as well as the regular earbuds that are known to be in the Tone series from LG, the LG Tone Ultra SE has a mono speaker in addition to the earbuds, therefore you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker, it will be pretty useful if you are running and you don’t want to keep the earbuds in your ear.

The earbuds from LG will be the first earbuds from the Tone series to have the support of Google Assistant, but there is something new here, instead of always saying the hot word “hey Google” the new earbuds features a separate button only to activate Google Assistant, which would make it more comfortable for you to use the assistant, especially when you are using the new instant real-time translating feature that also comes with the new LG Tone earbuds, of course, using Google Translate.

We forgot to mention that both models have two MEMS microphones in order to have high-quality phone calls.

While LG didn’t mention anything concerning the price or the availability of the new LG Tone earbuds, the LG Tone Platinum SE will be available in black, blue, and gold color varieties, and the LG Tone Ultra SE will be available in black and blue colors only. Of course, both models will be available at LG’s section in the upcoming IFA Berlin show, maybe we will get more details on the prices and the date of release during the show.
