Logic Pro X update 10.5 brings new features and content

There is some great news for those who have already been enjoying Apple’s music production software Logic Pro X as the company decided to release a huge system update. The Logic Pro X 10.5 update adds a few new features that were missing until now, so let us guide you through the latest additions.

Features Update

There are five major features updates that are included in the Logic Pro X update, as well as a few additional ones including improvement of the overall software stability, easier manipulation of individual and multiple audio files, or instruments with immediate access to the new options right from the track.

  • Live Loops: One of the biggest parts of the Logic Pro X update is the addition of Live Loops. This introduces a whole new grid for musicians and allows them to deal with all samples, loops, and recordings in a more advanced way and place them in arrangements into the timeline. Furthermore, it allows you to add Remix FX for more effects such as gates, filters, and repeaters.
  • Sampler: Following the Live Loops is a new sampler that allows you to create but also edit different sampled instruments all in a simple interface that works on drag and drop principle. Moreover, the AutoSampler includes an automated conversion of MIDI-enabled instruments into Sampler instruments, but Apple also made sure that all EXS24 instruments are supported.
  • Quick Sampler: This feature allows you a quick Sampler action by identifying the root note and the loop points according to the set tempo. You can also record live samples from anywhere, even on the go, and it can be instantly converted into a sampled instrument.
  • Drum Machine Designer: The Drum Machine Designer does exactly what you would expect: allows you to manipulate samples into your own custom drum kits. It also has quick access to the previous feature, Quick Sampler, as well as Drum Synth for a more convenient workflow. Step Sequencer: This feature allows you to create your own beats and melodies, and even effects, by manipulating the velocity, repeat, chance, offset, step rate, and more. It also provides you with a library of over 150 different patterns and allows you to use any patch including custom kits made by Quick Sampler and Drum Machine Designer as your sound source.

Content Update:

Except for the new features, the new Logic Pro X update also adds more content to the software that would give you even more options in music creation than before.

  • 1,500+ new patches
  • Drum Machine Designer brings 70 new kits besides the option to create your own custom kit
  • 17 Live Loops grids for a wide variety of genres, from electronic and pop, to hip-hop
  • 2,500+ loops, bringing you a variety of options of both instruments and genres such as hip-hop, electro house, future bass and more
  • Thanks to Apple’s new update, creating music in Logic Pro X is now even easier than before with so many more options in both features and content. The update is available for free for all existing users, but if you still do not own the software, you can find it in your Mac App Store for $199.99 single time payment fee.
