The first high-res certified gaming headphones

SteelSeries, mainly known for their high-quality gaming equipment like mechanical keyboards, mice, gaming headphones and other gaming related products; announced a new series of “audio systems” that features three headphones and a DAC.

The Arctis Pro series includes a flagship wireless RGB headphones, a GameDAC powered headphones and regular wired RGB gaming headphones. all three headphones will be compatible with Computers and PS4 consoles. SteelSeries claims that the Arctis Pro series is “the first high-fidelity and high-res certified audio systems for gaming.”

The Wireless + Bluetooth Arctis Pro will be able to use two different wireless connection methods to provide the best, most stable connection to the gaming platform “This provides lossless and ultra-low latency wireless audio with up to 40 feet of range. Auto-channel hopping technology ensures the headset will always find clean RF space for interference-free performance.” as SteelSeries mentioned in their blog.

The GameDAC featured with the flagship headphones has an ESS Sabre DAC chip with an Amplifier on board and “delivers abundant power to the Arctis Pro headset for strong output levels with extremely low distortion”. Using GameDACs OLED display you’ll be able to access settings and controls without the need of 3rd party software.

GameDACs OLED display will give you access to EQ, surround sound toggle, configure headset illumination and control volume and ChatMix levels, without using a PC. PC gamers looking for an even deeper level of customization can use SteelSeries Engine software for total personalization.

Arctis Pro headsets feature speaker drivers with neodymium magnets that reproduce Hi-Res audio up to 40,000 Hz which is above the normal human hearing range, With 121dB of dynamic range and -95dB THD+N, the Arctis Pro with the GameDAC perform just like any other audiophile class headphones reproducing audio with resolutions up to 96kHz/24-bit.
