Vizio TVs Midline M-series now support 4K and HDR
The American consumer electronics company Vizio launched three new HDR-capable 4K models, adding high picture quality to its mid-priced M-series smart TVs. with an almost bezel-free design, full-array backlighting, Dolby Vision HDR processing, up to 600 nits of peak brightness, and a new version of Vizio’s SmartCast operating system. The price range of the new TVs is from $700 to $1,500, which is low for TV with this features.
The new SmartCast operating system is compatible with Amazon Echo, and Google Home voice-control systems. With Alexa app, you can turn on/off the TV, control the sound level, or turn the TV on and pause it. However, Google Assistant is more improved here, you can ask your Google Assistant to play Netflix, or YouTube on your smart TV. Alexa doesn’t support Vizio’s smart TVs yet.
Besides the Dolby Vision support, the new TVs also support the HDR10 format and have up to 40 local dimming zones with LEDs that respond dynamically to what’s on screen to enhance contrast and shadow detail, they’re supported also with a 120Hz effective refresh rate to improved motion performance when you are watching sports or other fast-action content.
The new SmartCast OS is much faster than its predecessors, the TV is equipped with a built-in Chromecast, in order to support the wide range of apps that need a Chromecast to work on your TV. on the Start screen you can find a lot of on-screen apps like Netflix, iHeart Radio, and Vudu.
As a smart TV, the new screens are capable of controlling a wide range of smart home gadgets, and the new SmartCast system allows you to voice-control your TV, with some basic functions like turning the TV on/off and controlling the volume.
