Google and Amazon AirPods might be coming next year

Taking a look at the wireless earbuds market, slowly but surely there are more and more earbuds that look like the popular Apple AirPods. One of the latest additions to the AirPod clones were the Honor FlyPods by Huawei with Bone ID Technology and around 20 hours of playback time. But, new competition could show up as we might be seeing Google and Amazon AirPods alternatives in the following year.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that in 2019 the two giants, Google and Amazon, will join Apple in seizing the AirPod-alike market with their own versions of the popular wireless earbuds. He expects the competitive characteristics to be Google’s influence on the Android market, as well as Amazon’s voice assistant service.

Besides the potential Google and Amazon AirPods, there is also Apple Airpods 2 that is being awaited, predicted to be released in the first half of 2019. The second version is expected to have wireless charging, water resistance and a new patented feature of interchangeable earbuds. There are also rumors of biometric sensors being added, but it was not officially confirmed by an Apple representative yet. This would all mean that the next year will bring a lot of new and exciting editions to the wireless earbuds market.
