Pioneer and Onkyo Deezer support coming as August update

Pioneer and Onkyo, two audio equipment manufacturers, were one of the several mentioned to get Deezer support when Deezer HiFi, previously known as Deezer Elite, was announced a bit less than a year ago. Finally, the time has come as Pioneer and Onkyo Deezer support is announced to be coming as a free firmware update during the August for some of their AV receivers and other audio devices, meaning Sonos will not exclusively offer this service anymore.

Deezer is one of the oldest music streaming services offered, while Deezer HiFi is its highest-paid subscription tier of service, after Deezer Premium. Both paid tiers offer unlimited music on your devices, no ads, offline access to music, but Deezer HiFi additionally offers over 35 million songs in lossless CD quality FLAC format, which is not a common feature among other music streaming services. Of course, if you do not want to pay, there is the free Deezer tier that just lacks some benefits other tier offers. Deezer also has a feature of creating a soundtrack based on your taste in music that you would enjoy, but also adds something new and similar, helping you to discover new artists.

Talking about devices, Pioneer and Onkyo Deezer support are coming only to some devices including speakers and quite a bit number of AV receivers from both manufacturers, allowing you to enjoy high-quality audio on devices you might already own.

Pioneer’s AV receivers SC-LX901, SC-LX801, SC-LX701, SC-LX501, SC-LX502, VSX-LX503, VSX-LX303, VSX-LX302, VSX-1131, VSX-933, VSX-932, VSX-832, VSX-831, VSX-S520D and VSX-S520 are getting the update, as well as 2-channel receivers SX-N30AE and SX-S30DAB, network players N-70AE, N-50AE, N-30AE, NC-50DAB, network CD receivers XC-HM86D, X-HM86D, X-HM76D and X-HM76. Pioneer’s network music systems FS-W50 and FS-W40 and wireless streaming speakers MRX-5 and MRX-3 are getting the update as well.

There is also quite a lot Onkyo products on the list. These include AV receivers TX-RZ3100, TX-RZ1100, TX-RZ830, TX-RZ820, TX-RZ810, TX-RZ730, TX-RZ720, TX-RZ710, TX-NR686, TX-NR676E, TX-NR656, TX-NR575E, TX-NR474, HT-S9800THX and PR-RZ5100, as well as network stereo R-N855, network CD receiver CR-N755, network players NS-6170, NS-6130 and NCP-302. Stereo receivers LS5200 and TX-L20D are on the list too, and not to forget the Dolby Atmos soundbar LS7200.
