Samsung Announces Two New Soundbars In The Q Series

Samsung has announced two new soundbars. The Samsung HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R are the first two soundbars in Samsung’s Q Series lineup. The two new soundbars are with collaboration between Samsung Audio Lab and Harman Kardon that is also owned by Samsung.

“the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R are smarter than ever, offering an immersive surround sound experience for home theaters.” reads the Samsung press release. The reason the two new soundbars are labeled as “smarter than ever” is that both soundbars are featuring Samsung’s Adaptive Sound technology, as well as a new technology called Samsung Acoustic Beam.

Using the Adaptive Sound technology, the new soundbars will “analyze content played on a viewer’s TV and adjust to ideal sound settings for any given scene.”. If you happen to have one of Samsung’s 2019 QLED TVs and you have the AI mode on, then the soundbars will automatically switch to Adaptive Sound mode. Otherwise, you will have to turn it on manually.

The Acoustic Beam technology uses an array of fine holes at the back of the soundbar to create a panoramic soundscape and a wider sound field.

While WiFi connectivity is missing. The Q-Series soundbars feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to play high-quality music from any other device.

The Samsung HW-Q70R features both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 360-degree surround sound technology. Both technologies will definitely deliver an amazing sound experience. The support for Dolby Atmos is usually present only on Samsung’s high-end soundbars, so if you are searching for a new soundbar with a reasonable price, then The Samsung HW-Q70R is what you’re looking for.

Both soundbars are already available in the UK, and they will be available elsewhere in April. While Samsung didn’t mention anything about the pricing, based on the UK price, the HW-Q60R will be around $800, and the price tag for the HW-Q70R will be around $1000.
