Samsung Galaxy A52 & A72: Everything you need to know

Samsung has announced three new additions to its Galaxy A smartphone lineup. The idea behind the new smartphones is to make powerful tech innovations available to a wider audience which is why they will offer more advanced features despite the affordable price range. The latest additions include Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72. Here is everything you need to know about them, as well as the difference between the devices!

Galaxy A52, A52 5G and A72 Specs

Starting with Galaxy A52, Samsung delivers 4, 6, and 8GB RAM options combined with 128 or 256GB internal storage, while still allowing for up to 1TB of external storage thanks to the MicroSD slot. Galaxy A52 has a 4.500 mAh battery capacity which, according to the company, will last you even up to two days, but it also supports 25W fast charging which will definitely be useful. When it comes to the display, you can expect a 6”5 Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with 90Hz refresh rate, minimal bezels and a central punch-hole selfie camera. Galaxy A52 5G will offer pretty much all of the same features as we just mentioned with the expectation of the addition of 5G connectivity and a bit better refresh rate at 120Hz.

Finally, Galaxy A72 is the one that stands out the most from the new range as it is the biggest in size but other than that, has many features the same as the A52 mentioned before. That means you can still expect the same RAM and internal storage options, as well as Super AMOLED Infinity-O display but in 6.7” and 90Hz. In order to support the bigger display, it has a bit bigger battery with 5.000 mAh capacity.

Camera

Another difference between the A52 and A72 is the camera setup. Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G have the same quad-camera setup located in the top left corner of the device which features a 64MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP depth and macro sensors. Although the main, ultra-wide and macro sensors are the same on the A72, instead of the 5MP depth sensor you get an 8MP 3x optical zoom lens. The front camera has a punch hole housing at the center of the display and has a 32MP lens on all new devices. You can also expect a 4K Video Snap feature, Scene Optimizer, and AR Emoji and My Filter features that allow you to add fun details to your content.

Additional Features

As mentioned before, Samsung’s goal with the new additions to the A-Series is to bring more advanced features to its affordable devices. This is why all three smartphones will have water and dust resistance with an IP67 rating and will support surround sound with Dolby Atmos. But, there are many more we can mention, starting with the Smart Things feature that allows you to connect to other smart home devices in your home and even find them using the SmartThings Find. You can enjoy music with your friends using both Music Share and Buds Together features based on what you prefer at the moment, or send each other files using Quick Share.

Availability & Price

Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72 are all going to be available worldwide through local retailers and service providers. However, we expect the availability of the A52 model to be a bit more limited than the other devices. All devices will be available in four color options: Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Violet. The RAM and internal memory availability may differ on the market and the carrier, but you can expect the price to start at around $350 for A52, $430 for the 5G model, and $450 for the larger A72 model.
