Huawei Mate 40: Everything You Need To Know

Closely following the release of new flagships across the market including the new iPhone 12 series, OnePlus 8T, and Google Pixel 5, Huawei has released its own latest smartphone flagship series: Mate40 Pro. After months of rumors and potential renders of the phone itself and its unusual covers, we finally get a look at the true design, specs, and other features of the new flagship. Here is everything you need to know about Huawei’s latest smartphones.  The new Huawei Mate 40 has quite a bold and recognizable look, mostly thanks to the quite unusual camera setup on the back. The device itself has a very sleek design with rounded edges and minimal bezel on all four sides supported by a punch-hole front camera rather than a notch. The edge-to-edge curved display has a 90Hz refresh rate for an even smoother and more enjoyable user experience.  What gives the phone immediate balance is the symmetrical back camera setup. The Space Ring camera is not a typical quad-camera housing in the shape of a square or a rectangle, but rather a circle with four lenses at equal distance from each other and the flash at the very top of the ring. The camera lenses include the 50MP Ultra Vision lens, 16MP Ultra Wide Angle lens, 8MP Telephoto lens, and lastly, the laser sensor. The front camera has a 13MP lens with a wide-view that allows you to take a photo with a group of friends and shoot interesting videos thanks to Huawei’s video features.  When it comes to the internals, there are a few details we must mention, starting with the chipset. Powered by the 5nm Kirin 9000E 5G SoC, you will be able to multitask or process data without ever feeling held back by the device. The processor, combined with the 22-core Mali-G78 GPU means you can enjoy your favorite games in a whole new experience. The device also features dual speakers with 3D sound, meaning any game or video you watch will be even more immersive than before. Of course, the said chipset also brings 5G connectivity which is almost becoming a necessity in flagships across the market.  Going further down the list of features, we get to the battery. Considering the power and connectivity Huawei Mate 40 supports, a large battery is a must which is why Huawei opted for a 4200 mAh one. This is combined with the 40W SuperCharge that means you will be able to quickly recharge your battery throughout the day without running out mid-game.  There are a few other features that are interesting to mention, including the AI touch-free interactions that allow you to control different apps and navigate through them just by moving your hand in front of the device without actually having to touch it. Furthermore, the Eyes on Display feature that you can set up, and each time the screen is off but you glance at the phone, you will be able to see a pre-set gif or a photo of your choosing. There are many other native features offered by Mate 40, including Multi-screen Collaboration, Floating Window, and more that you can explore.  The new Huawei Mate 40 has officially been launched today, but will not be released for sale yet even though the official release is expected at some point in November. The price has been announced already, set at $1.063 with availability in several interesting color options including Mystic Silver, White, Green, Yellow, and a classic Black.
